How workplace accountability affects the organization

A number of businesses often have problems with regards to their workplace. They're often met with employees who have low morale and self esteem resulting to them not meeting the demands of the organization in terms of output. This puts organizations in a very compromising situation since productivity defines their performance, and performance is defines the organization's profitability.

An innovative and very effective way of eliminating these problems is through creating greater accountability in the workplace. As many employers may have already realized, a huge amount of resources is being lost because of lack of accountability from their employees. Not only that low productivity costs money, it also causes them opportunity losses. Employers lose what should have been profits only if productivity was maximized. Creating greater accountability resolves this issue by making employees more responsible. Accountability in the workplace provides a clear designation of goals therefore prevents everyone from blaming each other because of certain tasks that have not been accomplished or were poorly accomplished.

Accountability in the workplace impacts greatly the productivity of the people within it. But the success in instilling greater accountability in the workplace relies on the ability of the leaders to use accountability as an encouragement. Since accountability is often avoided by many people, the challenge is on how to use it in a positive way that leads to positive results. Further training and knowledge on accountability might be essential in order to effectively create a culture of accountability.
